A new project is born

So far I only commited the first bunch of files to SVN. Current codebase is fully functional in SQL Server.

As soon as the MySQL DDL script will be ready I plan to package a first release and make it available for download. In the meantime, if you are really looking forward to this, code can be downloaded from SVN.

Sebastiaan's Gravatar Hi, why not put your efforts into the RiaForge project Kalendar, which really needs community input, instead of creating yet another CF-calendar project. Makes it just harder for us normal people to choose from.

Massimo Foti's Gravatar Hi Sebastian. The main reason why I wrote my own app is because Kalendar, while nice, doesn't fit my needs and its architecture makes it quite hard to extends. You can't make Kalendar multilanguage without rewriting it.
BTW Sorry for answering so late, I haven't got any notification about your comment

Sebastiaan's Gravatar Hi Massimo, how far is this version? Is it useable or will it take a lot of work? And how does it compare to Ben Nadels Kinky Calendar System? I've made that multi-language proof as well and skinnable and i18N workable. Do you have any screenshots?

Massimo Foti's Gravatar Hi Sebastian. Current version is already in production on an intranet. I am working on the MYSQL DDL as we speak. I don't have a public demo url for now. Hope it will be available soon.

Kinky Calendar isn't CFC based, so it's much harder to extend. Among other things, it doesn't supports scheduled publishing, images, attachments and skins. Ben has done a good job, but I believe what I am doing here is somewhat broader in scope.

You may give it a try now, or wait until I'll have the first build available, it's going to be a matter of days
